This interactive demo needs WebGPU, which isn't available here. It runs in current Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and ChromeOS, Chrome on Android 12+, and Safari 26, with hardware acceleration turned on.
A 3D cat at its desk that copies your expressions and head turns through your webcam, with a springy tail and whiskers, all on your device.
Press Use my camera and the cat at the desk copies you like a reflection: blink and it blinks, open your mouth and it opens its own, turn or tilt your head and it follows. Without the camera it keeps itself busy: it blinks, breathes, watches your pointer and pushes the little computer mouse around as you move yours.
The cat began in 2022 as a streaming avatar built in Unity and driven by an iPhone. This version runs in the browser instead: an ordinary webcam reads your expressions, and its tail, ears and whiskers bounce as it moves.
Everything happens on your device: the video is never uploaded or recorded, and the camera turns off when you press Turn camera off or leave the page.
Techniques: WebGPU, face tracking, morph targets, spring bones, MediaPipe. An interactive WebGPU demo by Jingfu Chen.
